MAXI-BOX ALUMINUM CANTILEVER GATE SPECIFICATIONS
FOR OPENINGS 65 FT. To 85 FT.

The fabric section of the gate frame will be fabricated from a minimum 2" x 3" 6063-T6 alloy with a .125" wall thickness. Intermediate vertical members in this section will be 2" square x .125" wall tubing. The non-fabric section of the gate frame will be fabricated from a 2” square 6063-T6 alloy with a .125” wall thickness. Intermediate vertical members in this section will be 2” square x .125” wall thickness tubing. Structural members will be wrap-fillet welded 95% of their circumference, allowing a seep hole for condensation to escape. The gate frame will be of all-welded construction. A one-piece 6061-T6 alloy extruded track is welded to each section of the gate frame to form a rigid connection to it. The track will weigh no less than 3.60 pounds per linear foot. . The gate will be cross-braced by 1" square x .090” wall tubing between the vertical members incorporated along the length of both the fabric section and the non-fabric section. The fabric section and the non-fabric section will be crossed-braced to each other with 2” x 2” x .125” x 19” long tubing members, resulting in an overall frame 24” wide. The 19” span between the fabric and non-fabric sections will be diagonally braced opposite each vertical member and cross-braced on each end of the gate with 1” square x .090” wall tubing. Vertical members on each section of the gate frame will not exceed 7-ft. centers.

Twelve truck assemblies, two on each gate support post, will support the gate and track system. The body of the truck assembly will be constructed from extruded 6061-T6 aluminum. The truck assembly will have four 2” diameter, 9/16" wide, sealed ball-bearing wheels. One side-thrust guide wheel will be located on each end of the truck assembly to ensure proper alignment of the truck assembly within the track. The truck assembly will be supported by a self-aligning 5/8" rod-end that connects to the hanger bracket using two 5/8-18 nuts. The hanger brackets will be constructed from 6" x 4" x 1/2" A-36 steel angle iron. The finished 15" long bracket will receive either 4" round or 4" square u-bolts.

One single-wheel bottom guide assembly will be supplied for each support post. The single-wheel bottom guide assembly will be constructed from an aluminum bracket that will incorporate one 3.5" diameter natural rubber guide wheels with a 1.25" contact surface. The wheel will be attached to the bracket by 3/8" zinc-plated axle bolts.

The six gate support posts will be 4" OD Schedule 40 posts, or six 4" x 4" square tube posts with no less than a 3/16" wall thickness. A pair of posts for the gate catch will match the support posts. Minimum length of the posts will be equal to the gate height plus 4'. All posts will be provided by others and installed in a vertically plum position with a minimum of 3.5' below grade, encased in a minimum 0.25cubic yards of concrete. Spacing for posts will be determined from the counter balance chart provided by A&E.

Gates, truck assemblies and hanger brackets carry a five-year limited warranty, which will cover all defects in material and workmanship, provided that installation of these components is performed in a proper manner, within the guidelines established by A&E.
